I’m a list checkin fool!

Over the last couple weekends, I have been able to mark quite a few things off my 35 by 35. I went to a rodeo, camped in a tent, paddled a kayak, got a job offer - contemplated said offer - talked to current work who is fixing the stuff that frustrates me - so now I am staying - at more money of course, joined a book club - and read several books, dealt with my Noodle’s last days of 2nd grade , dealt with her summer day care plans (free childcare, FTL) changing on a Thursday night for the following two weeks, and had The BFF move out of my house. All in all, it’s been a hectic summer so far. But, I have lived to tell about it … so … fasten your seat belts. I am fixin to get y’all caught up on The Neatos. This weekend, we will be scarce, since we are headin to Granbury to blow sh!t up for the 4th, drink beer, and BBQ!

I wonder who their adoption agency was?

Because Mag climbed the ladder to find these eggs …

and then we read that the incubation period was supposed to 13 - 16 days … and we should have seen babies by now … and they are still eggs! I think the adoption agent faked them out. We see the two birds up there each night, and they still look like Jack and Jack. There is no Prius, the decorating is not near as flashy as I’d expect from homosexual birds … they have me confused.

Well, not “our” birds. We have some tree swallows that chose our lovely house and are building a nest near our front door - in the entryway. They began their mudhut about 2 weeks ago. There was a brown (presumably female) bird and a smaller blue (presumably male) bird. They worked together for quite some time. Then suddenly for the last few days, instead of Jack and Jill in the nest together, it appears to be Jack and Jack! WTH?

Rehabilitating Polly

Yesterday on my way into The Dreaded 9 to 5, I saw Polly slumped on the side of the freeway. She was pretty badly bruised and battered. I pulled over and picked her up. By the time we arrived at The Dreaded 9 to 5, she was dragging her feet and clawing at the door frame to not go in. So, I punched her in the stomach and threw her over my shoulder. I put her under my desk, so I could keep an eye on her. She helped me out a bit yesterday.
